Meet Your Trainers

O'Rien Vance

Picture
O'Rien Vance brings a wealth of experience and passion to United Movement. As a former Iowa State linebacker and three-time team captain, he understands the importance of leadership, teamwork, and adaptability—skills that translate directly into his personal training approach.

Why Train with O'Rien?

Athletic Background: O'Rien played at an elite level with the Iowa State Cyclones, where he developed a deep understanding of strength training, conditioning, and injury prevention. His experience allows him to train clients not just for performance but for long-term durability and resilience.

Leadership & Coaching: As a three-time team captain, O'Rien knows how to work with people, motivate them, and guide them toward their goals—whether it's recovering from an injury, increasing strength, or enhancing athletic performance.

Education & Training Expertise: O'Rien holds a Master’s degree in Developmental Sociology, giving him insight into how people grow, change, and overcome challenges—both physically and mentally. Combined with his certifications in personal training and coaching, he creates individualized programs that support both performance and long-term movement health.

O'Rien’s Training Philosophy

O'Rien believes in building a strong foundation first—focusing on proper movement mechanics, mobility, and strength before progressing into advanced techniques. Whether you’re training for sport, longevity, or transitioning from rehabilitation, he ensures each session is tailored to your needs, helping you gain strength, confidence, and resilience.

Anthony Guerra

Picture
Anthony Guerra brings energy, high-level experience, and a performance mindset to United Movement. A certified personal trainer with a focus in strength and conditioning, he is currently a junior at Iowa State University majoring in Kinesiology and Health with a Pre-Physical Therapy focus and plans to attend physical therapy school after graduation. Anthony has already become an important part of the team, stepping in seamlessly during O’Rien Vance’s paternity leave and quickly earning the trust of clients and staff alike.

Why Train with Anthony?

High-Performance Background
Anthony spent the past two summers as a strength coach at the Seattle Sports Institute, where he worked with NFL athletes and Division I collegiate competitors. That experience gives him a clear understanding of what effective, targeted strength and conditioning really looks like at an elite level—knowledge he brings to every client, regardless of their starting point.

Education & Future Clinical Insight
As a Kinesiology and Health major on a Pre-Physical Therapy track, Anthony is building a strong foundation in biomechanics, exercise science, and rehabilitation principles. His goal of becoming a physical therapist shapes the way he designs training, blending performance with long-term joint and movement health.

Role at United Movement & Accessibility
Anthony has helped United Movement expand a commonly requested service: more flexible training times. He currently offers sessions on weekday afternoons/evenings and Saturday mornings, making it easier for students, professionals, and busy parents to build consistent training into their schedule.

Anthony’s Training Philosophy

Anthony believes that smart, consistent strength training is one of the most powerful tools for changing how you feel and perform day to day. His approach centers on solid fundamentals—good technique, progressive loading, and thoughtful exercise selection—rather than shortcuts or quick fixes. Whether you’re chasing better performance, building strength from the ground up, or looking to bridge the gap between rehab and full activity, Anthony’s goal is to make training challenging, understandable, and sustainable.
