Control. Stability. Strength. Better movement for life.
What pilates is at United Movement
Ames Pilates is proud to be part of United Movement, a holistic movement and wellness clinic dedicated to helping clients move, feel, and perform at their best. By bringing together Pilates, chiropractic care, physical therapy, massage therapy, and personal training under one roof, we offer a collaborative approach to health and movement that supports clients at every stage of life.
Unlike many Pilates studios that focus primarily on reformer training, Ames Pilates provides a comprehensive Pilates experience utilizing the full range of professional Pilates apparatus. Clients have access to Reformers, Stability Chairs, Towers, the Cadillac, and Orbit equipment, allowing sessions to be tailored to individual goals, abilities, and movement needs.
Our studio is equipped exclusively with premium Merrithew™ Pilates equipment and instruction is rooted in the principles of Pilates. Whether you are recovering from injury, seeking improved athletic performance, managing chronic pain, or simply looking to move more efficiently, our integrated approach allows us to meet you where you are and help you progress safely and effectively.
At Ames Pilates, we believe movement is medicine, and our goal is to provide personalized, evidence-informed Pilates instruction within a supportive healthcare and wellness environment.

Services
Private Pilates Sessions
Private Pilates sessions provide one-on-one instruction tailored specifically to your goals, abilities, and movement needs. Whether you are new to Pilates, recovering from an injury, managing chronic pain, improving athletic performance, or looking to enhance overall strength and mobility, your instructor will design a personalized program using the full range of Pilates apparatus.
Private sessions offer the highest level of individual attention and are ideal for clients seeking a customized approach to movement and wellness.
Duet Pilates Sessions
Duet Pilates sessions allow two participants to work together with one instructor. Duets provide many of the benefits of private training while offering a more affordable option and the opportunity to work alongside a spouse, friend, family member, or workout partner.
Each session is customized to accommodate the goals and abilities of both participants while maintaining individualized instruction and attention.
Small Group Pilates Apparatus Classes
Our Pilates Apparatus Classes combine the energy of a group setting with the personalized instruction that Pilates is known for. Classes utilize a variety of Pilates equipment, including Reformers, Stability Chairs, Towers, the Cadillac, Orbit equipment, and Jumpboards.
To ensure quality instruction and individual attention, classes are limited to four participants. This small-group format allows instructors to provide exercise modifications, progressions, and technique corrections while fostering a supportive and motivating environment.
An Initial Session is required before joining a class to ensure that each participant is familiar with the equipment, foundational Pilates principles, and studio procedures.
Participation in Pilates Apparatus Classes is determined at the discretion of the instructor to ensure a safe and effective experience for all clients. Recommendations are based on factors such as movement ability, injury history, current physical condition, and individual goals.
As part of United Movement’s collaborative approach to care, our instructors may consult with other providers within the clinic, including physical therapists, chiropractors, and massage therapists, when determining whether a group class setting is appropriate. In some cases, private sessions may be recommended prior to joining a class to help clients build the skills, strength, and confidence necessary for a successful group experience.
Our Pilates Apparatus Classes provide individualized instruction in a small-group setting, allowing participants to benefit from expert guidance while enjoying the energy and camaraderie of a class environment.
